The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Associate IT Operations Engineer to join our IT Operations team in Manchester.
This is an entry-level position for someone looking to begin and develop their career in IT. We’re looking for someone who is curious, has a genuine interest in technology and is willing to learn, with the ability to demonstrate this through previous work, studies, personal projects or self-directed learning. A friendly, customer-focused approach is also essential.
You will receive practical training and support from experienced colleagues while gaining exposure to endpoint management, end-user support, business applications and day-to-day IT Operations.
The main purpose of the role is to ensure that employees have reliable access to the devices, systems and applications they need to perform their work effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, professional, first-line technical support to employees.
- Troubleshoot day-to-day hardware, software, account, application and connectivity issues.
- Configure, deploy and support laptops, monitors, mobile devices and other IT equipment.
- Support Microsoft 365 and other business applications.
- Assist with user accounts, permissions, multi-factor authentication and access requests.
- Record and manage incidents and service requests through the IT ticketing platform.
- Escalate complex issues to senior colleagues or external suppliers.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including equipment and system access.
- Maintain accurate device, software and licence records.
- Create and update user guides, technical notes and support documentation.
- Help maintain endpoint security, compliance and software updates.
- Support office Wi-Fi, printers and meeting-room technology.
- Contribute to IT projects and service improvements.
About You
- A genuine interest in technology and a desire to build a career in IT.
- A relevant degree, college qualification or apprenticeship is welcomed but not essential. Self-directed learning, personal IT projects or home-lab experience will also be considered.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, networking or IT ticketing systems would be beneficial.
- A patient, approachable and customer-focused attitude, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical colleagues.
- Willingness to learn, accept feedback and ask for guidance when required.
- Ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of assigned tasks.
- Ability to work on site at the Suits Me Manchester office 4 days per week.
