We are looking for a talented Senior Building Surveyor to join our growing Belfast team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects across the healthcare, education, public and private sectors, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions from concept through to completion. Purpose & Scope of the Role As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality consultancy services across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the UK and Ireland. Working closely with colleagues, clients and project partners, you will provide technical expertise, manage project delivery and contribute to the continued growth of our Building Surveying business. You will have the autonomy to lead your own projects while benefiting from the support of a collaborative and experienced team. Reporting to an Associate Director, you will help strengthen client relationships, contribute to business development activities and support the expansion of our services both nationally and internationally. Your Impact in this Position You will help clients make informed decisions about their assets, delivering expert advice throughout the project lifecycle. From surveys and assessments to design, contract administration and project management, your work will directly influence the successful delivery of projects that improve communities and create lasting value. Core Capabilities
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Build trusted relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and project teams. Provide clear, professional advice and act as a key point of contact throughout project delivery. Support business development and identify opportunities for growth.
- Technical Building Surveying Expertise: Deliver condition surveys, fire risk assessments, DDA audits and dilapidations advice. Produce technical reports and communicate findings clearly to a range of stakeholders. Apply sound knowledge of building pathology, compliance and industry best practice.
- Project & Contract Management: Lead projects from feasibility through to completion. Manage programmes, budgets and quality standards effectively. Administer and manage industry-standard construction contracts, including NEC.
- Design & Delivery: Prepare minor works designs using AutoCAD and/or Revit. Produce tender documentation and support procurement activities. Ensure project solutions are practical, efficient and aligned with client objectives.
- Quality & Continuous Improvement: Apply quality management processes across all project activities. Contribute to service development and professional excellence. Support specialist consultancy services, including asbestos consultancy development opportunities.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience Degree-qualified in Building Surveying or a related construction engineering discipline, with Chartered status (or working towards Chartered membership) through a recognised professional body such as RICS or SCSI. Experience managing multidisciplinary projects, construction contracts and stakeholder relationships is essential. NEC contract management experience is highly desirable. Working Environment This role is based in our Belfast office and offers the flexibility to balance office, site and home working. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the UK and Ireland, with regular opportunities to engage directly with clients and project stakeholders. We support flexible and hybrid working arrangements, enabling you to manage your time effectively while maintaining strong connections with your team and projects. Occasional travel will be required to attend site visits, client meetings and project workshops.
