About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to lead and coordinate the planning and early-stage execution of one or more major construction projects. This position plays a key role in ensuring project readiness and continuity, working closely with both internal teams and external partners.
You’ll oversee the entire preconstruction process, manage bids and tenders, and support the transition to the construction phase while maintaining strong relationships with clients, design professionals, and project stakeholders.
This role also involves collaboration with senior management to support pipeline planning and future project preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of preconstruction activities across designated projects
- Coordinate a smooth and informed handover to on-site delivery teams
- Lead the bid and tender process for negotiated contracts and proposals
- Support business development by contributing to client-facing presentations and pitches
- Establish and manage early-stage project planning and logistics
- Work with estimators to ensure design-stage costs align with project goals
- Verify that all designs meet project specifications and technical requirements
- Participate in pre-planning and design coordination meetings with clients and stakeholders
- Monitor and manage change control and pricing updates during design
- Collaborate with the site-based teams to align preconstruction input with construction delivery
- Support progress reporting with relevant updates during transition periods
- Handle procurement negotiations and contractor packages prior to order placement
- Contribute to commissioning plans and testing strategy with delivery teams
- Provide support during project handover and close-out phases
What We’re Looking For
- Strong background in preconstruction management or a closely related role
- Working knowledge of project estimating software (e.g. Trimble/Amtech)
- Technical understanding of both electrical and mechanical building systems
- Degree-level qualification in Engineering, Construction, or a relevant discipline
- Clear understanding of health, safety, and compliance frameworks in construction
