Sales Executive
The Bike Storage Company | Chelsea Harbour, London
About Us
The Bike Storage Company was founded in 2014 and has grown to become one of the UK’s leading specialists in cycle storage, street furniture and end-of-trip facilities.
We work with many of the UK’s leading architects, contractors, developers and property companies, supplying products to some of the country’s most exciting commercial, residential and public-realm projects.
We’re an ambitious, fast-growing business with a close-knit team based in Chelsea Harbour, Southwest London. As investment in cycling, sustainability and better urban spaces continues to grow, so do we — making this a great time to join the company and build a long-term career with us.
The Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, commercially minded Sales Executive to join our growing sales team.
This is a varied, hands-on role focused on developing new business, managing sales opportunities and building strong relationships with clients across the construction and property sectors.
You’ll work with customers from their first enquiry through to order, helping them identify the right solution for their project, preparing quotations and proposals, following up opportunities and ultimately helping convert enquiries into new business.
You’ll also work closely with our in-house Design, Marketing and Operations teams, giving you a broad understanding of how projects move from initial enquiry through to delivery.
It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys speaking to people, likes the commercial side of business and wants to develop quickly within a growing company.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Responding to new sales enquiries by phone and email.
- Understanding client requirements and recommending suitable products and solutions.
- Preparing quotations and project proposals alongside our Design and Marketing teams.
- Following up live quotations and opportunities to help progress projects towards order.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with architects, contractors, developers and other clients.
- Developing your own pipeline of sales opportunities.
- Proactively identifying new projects and potential customers using industry research tools such as Barbour ABI.
- Working closely with the wider sales team to identify opportunities for growth.
- Managing enquiries from initial conversation through to successful order.
- Handing over secured projects clearly to our Design and Operations teams.
- Maintaining regular contact with clients throughout the sales process.
- Developing a strong understanding of our products, market and customer base.
- Identifying new products, sectors and opportunities that could help drive further company growth.
- Getting involved in the wider business where needed — we’re a growing company, so there is plenty of variety and scope to make an impact.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need to know everything about cycle storage or construction when you join us — we can teach you that.
More importantly, we’re looking for someone who is:
- Confident, personable and comfortable speaking with customers.
- Commercially minded and motivated by winning new business.
- Proactive and happy to pick up the phone.
- Organised and capable of managing multiple opportunities at once.
- A strong communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- Reliable and comfortable taking ownership of their work.
- Keen to learn and develop.
- Comfortable working as part of a close-knit team.
- Ambitious and interested in progressing as the company grows.
Previous sales experience would be beneficial, particularly in a B2B environment. Construction industry experience is useful, but not essential.
Progression
We want this to be more than just another sales job.
You’ll be joining a growing business where good people are given genuine responsibility and room to progress. As your knowledge and experience develop, there is scope to take ownership of larger client accounts, more significant projects and increased commercial responsibility.
For the right person, this role can develop into a more senior sales or account management position as the company continues to grow.
Location
This is primarily an office-based role at our Chelsea Harbour office:
The Bike Storage Company
Unit 306 Harbour Yard
London
SW10 0XD
There will also be occasional opportunities to attend client meetings and visit live construction projects.
Working Hours
Monday – Friday
9:00am – 5:30pm
Salary Package
£30,000–£35,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus an annual performance-related bonus.
Holiday
- 31 days' holiday per year, including UK Bank Holidays.
- Opportunity to increase holiday allowance over time.
Benefits
- Apple MacBook Pro.
- Gym membership.
- Performance-related annual bonus.
- Ongoing training and development.
- Genuine opportunities for career progression.
- Exposure to major construction and development projects across the UK.
- The chance to join an established, successful business while it is still growing quickly.
Why Join Us?
We’re big enough to work on major projects with some of the best-known names in UK construction, but still small enough that individual people make a noticeable difference.
You won’t disappear into a huge sales department. You’ll work directly with experienced members of the team, learn how the wider business operates and have the opportunity to build your own client relationships and sales pipeline.
- If you’re ambitious, personable and commercially minded, and want to build a career in a growing business where your contribution is genuinely visible, we’d love to hear from you.
