The Night Market UK is a market event brand that showcases hand-made, artisan, makers, and vintage/upcycled products. The events are curated for each city in the UK and feature street food and a live DJ for a unique all-night experience. The Night Market UK has its roots in arts and community, and is a venture born out of the idea that real people creating real things and building genuine connections with each other and their customers is a way to advocate for real change in our communities.
Role Description
This is a part-time role for an Events & Social Media Impresario at The Night Market UK. It is a flexible remote hybrid position where you are also expected to work from our Edinburgh office alongside our team at least 5hrs a week (an additional 5 hours/week being able to be worked remotely), with additional availability for a minimum of 50% events per year. You will be responsible for managing social media, marketing, communication, content strategy, and social media optimization (SMO). This is a role for someone who wants the opportunity to be part of a small but constantly evolving team in a rapidly growing independent business, where your ideas are heard and creativity is celebrated, and who shares the same ethical and sustainable values as The Night Market UK. Experience is less necessary than imagination and curiosity, training will be available and provided if needed. A significant part of this role is events based and as such it can be socially demanding, so it is important that you are someone who is aware of your own social battery needs. It is worth noting, that particularly in the lead up to events, this role is the “Customer Service Desk” of the company, so communication skills are a must!
