Teaching Assistants in our school work within classes but also may have specific duties connected to a specific pupil or pupils. Their role is fully explained in the attached job description but we ensure that they are fully involved in the life of the school and are a full and productive member of the staff team.
A Teaching Assistant qualification is essential for this role.
The successful candidate will be expected to fulfil the Job Description attached and join a highly successful team with motivation, determination and flexibility.
One of the successful candidates will be working in a Year 3 class supporting two pupils who have additional needs and have EHCPs for ASD and ADHD. Previous experience with pupils with these needs is necessary.
The other successful candidate will be working in Key Stage 1, providing Phonics and Speech and Language intervention support. Experience of these areas is necessary.
We fully support and encourage staff training and development.
Trumacar Nursery and Community Primary School is committed to child safety and protection and all staff regularly undertake the DBS clearance process and are expected to know and adhere to the ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ document issued by the DfE. The successful candidate will receive further training on Child Protection from a Designated Senior Person as part of our induction process.
Appointments are subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service, proof of the right to work in the UK, completion of the Overseas Check form (if applicable) and subject to references.
