Job Description

Posted on: October 16, 2025

Join a global technology, consulting, and engineering partner driving transformation across the energy, utilities, and national infrastructure sectors. The business helps operators modernise ageing systems, digitise operations, and enhance resilience — combining deep engineering expertise with digital innovation.

Operating in over 20 countries, the organisation delivers complex projects that connect IT, OT, and engineering technologies, supporting net-zero goals, cyber resilience, and future-ready power systems. With a mission to build safer, smarter, and more sustainable infrastructure, this is a place where your commercial and technical expertise will directly contribute to shaping the future of essential services.

The Opportunity

Due to ongoing growth in UK capital delivery programmes, we’re seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management across major (£10m+) civil and infrastructure projects. You’ll oversee the full project lifecycle — from cost planning and procurement to contract administration and final account — ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards of governance, safety, and value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all commercial and quantity surveying aspects of civil, utility, and energy projects.
  • Prepare and maintain cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts from concept to completion.
  • Administer contracts, variations, claims, and final accounts (NEC / JCT).
  • Support procurement strategies and tender evaluations for complex multi-package works.
  • Provide accurate financial reporting, cost control, and risk management.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial and delivery risks.
  • Mentor junior team members and promote best practices across commercial operations.

About You

  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction, or Quantity Surveying.
  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience managing high-value infrastructure or energy projects (£10m+).
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience with NEC or JCT contracts.
  • Chartered (MRICS, CIOB, ICES) or working towards chartership.
  • IOSH certification desirable.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable working across multiple sites and engaging with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Based in the South East of England with flexibility for site travel.

Why Join

  • Be part of a forward-thinking global organisation tackling some of the UK’s most complex infrastructure challenges.
  • Work on projects that directly support energy transition, grid modernisation, and national resilience.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge technologies such as digital twins, automation, and predictive analytics.
  • Collaborative, inclusive culture focused on innovation, integrity, and professional development.
  • Competitive compensation, hybrid working, and long-term career progression opportunities.
