Carlton le Willows Academy Celebrated for Excellence in Careers Education

Carlton le Willows Academy Honored with National Award
A Gedling high school, Carlton le Willows Academy, has been awarded the national Quality in Careers Standard for its outstanding commitment to careers education. This accolade highlights the importance the academy places on guiding students in their post-school decisions.
Commitment to Careers Guidance
The academy, part of Delta Multi-Academies Trust, achieved this recognition under the guidance of Ixion, which is part of the Shaw Trust Group. There is a statutory duty for schools to provide independent careers guidance for all students starting from Year 8, and the government advocates for schools to strive for the Quality in Careers Standard.
Engaging Activities for Students
Carlton le Willows offers a variety of activities designed to prepare students for the workforce and assist them in making informed decisions about their future. Principal Jaspal Mehat expressed his excitement about the award, stating:
“We are thrilled to have achieved the national Quality in Careers Standard. At Carlton le Willows, we recognize the important role school plays in helping students develop their knowledge, skills, and experience so they can go out into the world and achieve personal success.”
He emphasized the academy's commitment to providing students with advice, practical support, and experience to prepare them for further education, employment, or training.
