The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) recently participated in the Veteran UK EXPO in Manchester, the UK's largest careers fair for service leavers and veterans. The event, held at Manchester Central, attracted around 1,650 attendees and over 100 exhibitors, providing a platform for CNC officers to showcase policing careers in the civil nuclear sector.
What CNC Offers Veterans
CNC representatives, including Sergeant Darren Adams and PCs Mark O’Neill and Rob Jones, highlighted how military skills like leadership, decision-making, and operational expertise seamlessly transition into policing roles. They discussed opportunities to become Authorised Firearms Officers (AFO) and other specialist roles such as:
- Strategic Escort Group (SEG)
- Police Medic
- Dog Handler
- Firearms Instructor
CNC's Commitment to the Armed Forces Community
Over the past year, more than 30 former service personnel have joined the CNC, bringing valuable experience to protect the UK's civil nuclear sites and safeguard nuclear material transport. The force remains dedicated to attracting talent from the military community.
