The Sgiliau Bwyd a Diod Cymru / Food & Drink Skills Wales Programme, funded by the Welsh Government, is at the heart of this initiative. It's dedicated to enhancing the skills and capabilities of the workforce in the food and drink processing and manufacturing industry. The programme not only supports businesses in ensuring their employees are well-trained but also fosters a culture of knowledge sharing and workplace flexibility.

A key feature of this campaign is the launch of a new online Jobs Noticeboard, showcasing a variety of vacancies across the sector. Kate Rees, Programme Manager, highlights the platform's role in connecting individuals with rewarding career paths and providing essential guidance for those exploring the industry.

"The Welsh Government aims to grow the sector’s value to £8.5 billion and increase the number of employees receiving the Welsh Living Wage to 80% by 2025," underscoring the sector's growth potential and commitment to fair wages.

Huw Irranca-Davies MS, Deputy First Minister, emphasizes the importance of aligning skills with the diverse and exciting roles available, ensuring the industry's continued expansion.

With Welsh food and drink gaining international recognition, the demand for skilled professionals is on the rise. Opportunities range from apprenticeships and operational roles to leadership positions, catering to a wide array of interests and skill levels.

Blas ar Fwyd, a North Wales-based family business, is championing the campaign, encouraging individuals to join the sector's dynamic and supportive community.
