Empowering Future Healthcare Heroes: A Unique Taster Experience at King’s Lynn Campus

Inspiring the Next Generation of Healthcare Workers
The College of West Anglia School of Nursing recently hosted a hands-on taster experience for Year 10 students at the King’s Lynn campus, aiming to inspire future generations of nursing and healthcare workers.

This engaging event provided students with a chance to dive into the world of healthcare, offering insights into essential medical skills. A highlight of the session was life-saving CPR training, which emphasized the importance of immediate response in emergencies and equipped students with the confidence to act decisively.

In addition to practical skills, the event introduced various nursing pathways and specialties available at the college.

A spokesperson for the college noted the enthusiasm from students, who expressed excitement about potential careers in healthcare. Feedback from students at the Nicholas Hamond Academy in Swaffham was overwhelmingly positive.
Beth Anderson remarked, “I liked coming here today for the hands-on experience to understand what will happen if I apply here, rather than just reading about it online.”
Bethany Halls added, “I found today really interesting as it allows me to see all pathways for the options I could take, helping me decide whether I want to pursue college or sixth form.”
