Empowering Young Women: Bewley Homes Champions Careers in Construction

Inspiring the Next Generation
Bewley Homes is championing Women in Construction Week (2-8 March 2025) by continuing its year-round engagement programme aimed at inspiring female students in primary schools, secondary schools, and sixth form colleges. This initiative introduces girls to the diverse and rewarding career opportunities available in the construction industry.
Engaging Activities
The programme includes school assembly talks, site visits, and work experience opportunities at Bewley’s headquarters in Tadley, Hampshire. Participants gain insights into the various roles involved in constructing new homes and communities.
Outreach to Local Schools
Recently, Bewley staff visited Benson Primary School, located near their latest housing development, to discuss the wide array of roles in housebuilding, including:
- Sales and Marketing
- Ecological and Interior Design
- Customer Service and Commercial
- Technical, Land, Finance, HR, IT
- Site-Based Jobs
Commitment to Inclusivity
Andrew Brooks, managing director of Bewley Homes, aims to expand the campaign's reach to older children, especially those with family connections in the industry. He emphasizes the importance of breaking down stereotypes and fostering an inclusive environment in construction.
A Call to Action
Brooks states, “Women in Construction Week provides an ideal platform to inspire the next generation of female talent. The industry must capture the attention of young children before they choose career paths that may not align with their true interests.”
He adds, “Attracting female talent across all areas of our industry is crucial, and we are committed to showcasing the variety of fulfilling career opportunities in housebuilding.”
