Experience the Thrill: Colchester College Students Get Up Close with Football's Prestigious Trophies

Colchester Institute Hosts Exclusive Trophy Event

Students at Colchester Institute had the unique opportunity to get close to two of football's most prestigious trophies: the Premiership Trophy and the Women’s Super League Trophy. This special event, held in collaboration with Barclays Lifeskills, took place on Monday from 9 am until 4 pm.

During the event, students participated in a series of career-focused workshops designed to equip them with essential skills for the workplace. Topics included:

• Interview success
• Online reputation management
• Business startup steps
• CV tailoring
• Networking strategies

Both trophies, typically seen at major events, were available for students to take photos with, making it a memorable experience. Barclays Lifeskills also set up a stand in the college’s main reception, offering insights into their initiative and the opportunities available.

Gary Horne MBE, deputy chief executive at Colchester Institute and an avid football fan, expressed gratitude towards Barclays Lifeskills for facilitating these invaluable sessions. He stated, “These events not only provide essential skills and insights for workplace success but also inspire students through direct interaction with two of football's most coveted trophies.”

Colchester Institute appreciates Barclays' commitment to enhancing students' personal and professional development.
