From Part-Time to Professional: Sean Hughes' Inspiring Journey in Optometry

Discovering Passion in Optometry

Sean Hughes found his passion for the optical industry when he joined the Specsavers store on New Street in October 2017. His journey began by working weekends while pursuing his studies in optometry at Plymouth University.

Gaining Hands-On Experience

After completing his degree, Sean returned to Specsavers Wellington in July as a pre-registration optometrist. This qualification enables individuals to gain hands-on experience while working towards becoming fully qualified optometrists.

A Career That Makes a Difference

"I wanted to work in a profession that helps people," Sean commented. He noted the significant impact an optometrist can have on customers and how intriguing the job is. He expressed gratitude for the support from store directors, Satinder and Emma, during his pre-registration period. Sean is excited about what the future holds for his career.
