Level Up! Employability Session

W Howard Group delivered a Level Up! employability session at Warrington Youth Zone, where participants gained practical experience rooted in real workplace activities. The Level Up! programme is designed to equip young people with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to explore different career paths and better understand the opportunities available within various industries.

Alice Evans, employability lead at Warrington Youth Zone, said: "Both Kayleigh and John were brilliant at speaking with the young people about the work that W Howard do, and most importantly, bringing that work to life. We are so glad W Howard could be part of the day, and we look forward to working with them again in our employability offer."

Hands-On Task: Simulating Real Work

During the session, W Howard’s head of e-commerce John Critchley and HR manager Kayleigh Hemingway guided attendees through a hands-on task that reflected the company’s operations. Young people were challenged to pick and sort MDF orders, simulating a key process from the firm’s Glazebury site. The exercise was designed to develop teamwork, organisation, and problem-solving abilities in a real-world context.

Ms Hemingway said: "Our employability session at Warrington Youth Zone was great and gave us the opportunity to give young people an insight into working life, career options and skills that can be developed through employment. The employability sessions give young people the chance to explore their potential and build confidence, and at W Howard, we are proud to help support and empower the next generation."
