Former Pupils Help Ignite Ambition in Young Students
A school's former pupils generously gave up their time to support more young people in choosing the right career path.
Matthew Biggs from Liberty Planning, Ellie Sandall from Artivity, and Richard Collins from Shotbowl were among the alumni of The Deepings School who attended its latest careers fair. They spent time explaining how their choices at school helped them and what happened when they left secondary education.

Open to pupils in Year 8 through to Year 12, the event was designed to inspire ambition and the drive to succeed.
Staff at the school expressed gratitude to the businesses and educational organizations that supported the event and pride in hearing that visitors were complimentary about the conduct of Deepings pupils, their manners, and their inquisitive careers-related questions.
Organizations that attended the careers fair included Artivity, Access Creative College Lincoln, Peterborough College, University Centre Peterborough, the University of Lincoln, Military Preparation College Training, the National Horseracing College, University of East Anglia, Caterpillar Perkins, Baker Perkins, Bakkavor, the NHS, Liberty Partnership Limited, the British Army, the RAF, Shotbowl, and Peterborough United FC.

Kirstie Johnson, head teacher, said: "From engaging displays and hands-on activities to valuable insights and advice, our guests went above and beyond in showcasing the wide variety of opportunities available to young people today. The Deepings School is incredibly grateful to all the exhibitors and former pupils who made the time to come to our school to share their wisdom, expertise, and knowledge with our pupils."
