How VolkerFitzpatrick Is Launching Careers for T-Level Students in Construction

Empowering the Next Generation in Construction

As part of our commitment to education, employability, and social value, we regularly collaborate with local colleges to place T-Level students from construction-related courses onto our projects as part of their curriculum. Recently, four students from Oaklands College in St Albans successfully completed a nine-week placement at our Radlett Strategic Rail Freight Interchange (SRFI) project, where we are advancing the first phase of this significant initiative.

During their time on site, these students—currently pursuing T-Level qualifications in Design, Surveying and Planning—had the opportunity to shadow professionals across various departments. This hands-on experience provided them with valuable insights into key areas such as rail infrastructure, planning, engineering, health and safety, and commercial operations, helping to build a strong foundation for their future careers in the construction industry.
