Importance of Connections

Professor Cox emphasized the importance of making connections in the industry:

“In the past, I’ve come across students who don’t know anyone that works in the industry that they dream of entering. The King’s Trust gives me the opportunity to make connections with students, which I think is really important.”
He believes that with the right support, students are more likely to pursue their dreams.

Supporting Young People

The King’s Trust has partnered with Omaze for their Million Pound House draw, with proceeds going towards the Omaze Education Fund. This fund aims to support educational initiatives for young people in various settings across the UK.

Research Insights

Recent research by The King’s Trust reveals that 49% of young people aged 11 to 21 believe that tailored learning approaches would improve their educational outcomes. Other insights include:

  • 43% favor one-on-one support
  • 40% prefer smaller class sizes
  • 36% value having a mentor

Additionally, 42% of young individuals expressed a desire for more control over their learning.

The research highlighted that 49% of students felt that increased self-confidence would help them achieve their academic goals. One student shared their experience, stating:

“Being on the Achieve programme has opened up opportunities for me. I wasn’t well behaved at the start of secondary school but now I feel a lot happier because I understand the work I’ve been set.”

The draw for the Million Pound House closes at midnight on Sunday, April 27th.
