Southport's new Eastbank building at the Enterprise Arcade recently hosted its inaugural event, a Digital Careers Event on June 10th and 11th, 2025, aimed at high school students. This event marked a significant milestone in the town's commitment to fostering digital and creative skills among the youth.
The event was a collaborative effort between Sefton Council and Edge Hill University, featuring workshops led by top UK tech experts. Participants delved into various cutting-edge topics including XR/immersive tech, graphic design, podcasting, social media marketing, and AI.

Leading businesses and organizations such as Fallen Planet Studios, Holovis, and Edge Hill University shared their expertise, providing students with invaluable insights into the digital and creative industries.
Eastbank, a £1.5 million project, is set to become a regional hub for tech, digital, and creative businesses. It offers four floors of premium workspace designed to encourage networking, innovation, and skill development, particularly for young people.

This initiative is part of the Southport Town Deal, aiming to revitalize the local economy and create new opportunities. The Enterprise Arcade is just one of several projects, including the £73 million Marine Lake Events Centre, transforming Southport into a dynamic place for business and leisure.
Cllr Marion Atkinson, Leader of Sefton Council, emphasized the importance of such spaces in attracting talent and fostering innovation. The overwhelming local support, with over 180 consultation responses, highlights the community's enthusiasm for this development.
