Gareth Morris, the Chief Executive of the Twynham Learning multi-academy trust, has stepped down after eight years at the helm. The news was shared by Mike Turvey, Chair of Trustees, who confirmed that Morris is leaving to pursue other opportunities within the education sector.

A Legacy of Leadership

Twynham Learning oversees eight schools across Dorset, including Christchurch Infant School, Christchurch Junior School, Poole High School, Stourfield Infant School, Stourfield Junior School, Twynham School and Sixth Form, The Grange School, and Twynham Primary School. Under Morris's leadership, the trust has seen significant achievements, including primary results that were 11 percentage points above the national average in reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as two successful Ofsted inspections.

Transition and Interim Leadership

Following Morris's departure, Nick Watkiss will serve as Interim CEO until August 2027. The trust is now looking to appoint a permanent successor. Turvey emphasized the importance of a thorough recruitment process to ensure the trust continues to build on its successes.
