Unlock Your Future: Cardiff Careers Event Sparks Construction and Carpentry Opportunities for Students

Eastern High Community Campus Hosts Inspiring Careers Event
Eastern High Community Campus recently hosted a dynamic careers event featuring a careers carousel and mock interviews designed to help students practice essential interview skills and networking. This initiative aimed to showcase the diverse career options available, particularly in the construction and carpentry industries.

Attendees included Meriel Gough, Lovell Social Value Manager, Martin Thomas, Lovell Regional Training Manager, Jamie Langdon, Construction Manager at Advanced Carpentry Solutions, and Harvey Hughs, an apprentice at Advanced Carpentry Solutions. Jamie shared insights into the high demand for new talent in carpentry, while Harvey provided a firsthand account of his apprenticeship experience, complete with a live carpentry demonstration.
Meriel and Martin highlighted how Lovell supports students through apprenticeship schemes and the Network75 scheme, offering mock interviews, CV reviews, and valuable feedback. They also distributed commemorative Lovell-branded bamboo pens to participants.
