Hailsham Academy's 2026 Careers Fair: A Gateway to Future Success
Hailsham Academy Secondary Phase in East Sussex recently hosted its annual Careers Fair on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, welcoming over 30 local businesses, training providers, and post-16 education institutions. This event provided students with a unique opportunity to explore a wide range of future pathways and gain valuable insights into potential careers.
Connecting Students with Industry Professionals
Organised by the Academy’s Careers Lead, Miss Murray, the fair brought together organisations from across the region to support students in Years 7 through 11. Exhibitors represented diverse sectors including business, technology, public services, creative industries, vocational training, and higher education. This comprehensive approach ensured students could explore various qualification and progression routes.
Building Confidence and Awareness
The Careers Fair is a key part of Hailsham Academy’s commitment to providing students with meaningful encounters with employers and further education providers. By connecting young people directly with industry professionals, the event aims to help students make informed decisions about their futures, build confidence, and broaden their awareness of opportunities beyond the classroom.
Student Engagement and Professionalism
Throughout the day, students engaged enthusiastically with exhibitors, asking insightful questions and demonstrating professionalism and curiosity. Several organisations praised the students’ conduct and the smooth coordination of the event, noting the Academy’s strong emphasis on values and personal development.

Voices from the Event
“It’s been fantastic to see months of planning come together so successfully,” commented Miss Murray. “I’m incredibly proud of the event and the level of engagement from both exhibitors and students. A huge thank you to everyone involved for their enthusiasm and support. It really highlights how important careers education is for our young people.”
Looking Ahead
The Academy looks forward to continuing its collaboration with local employers and educational providers as it prepares future events aimed at inspiring the next generation of learners and professionals.
