At this week’s Careers Breakfast, former King’s pupil Jamie Jenkins (OKS2003) shared invaluable insights into pursuing a career in law. Pupils from Removes to Sixth Form gathered to explore this dynamic field.

Jamie, a barrister specializing in Employment, Discrimination, and Education Law, discussed various pathways into the profession, different legal areas, and the key differences between being a solicitor and a barrister.

A highlight of the event was the hands-on experience of trying on Jamie’s barrister’s wig, along with a Q&A session where students could ask about his career journey.

Pupils expressed their gratitude, with one noting: "It was a really good introduction to careers in Law and how varied these can be. It was also good to hear that Jamie is happy to arrange work experience for Sixth Formers as this will be really useful for when I start applying to university."

Looking ahead, next week’s session will feature Abbi Fry, Head of Complaints at NFU. Senior School pupils can register on SOCS (Senior School events) now.
