A Wisbech firm, Coveris, has joined forces with Cambridge Regional College to create a series of career videos aimed at inspiring young people to explore various job options. These videos are part of the Careers Spotlight series, showcasing professionals discussing their roles and the diverse paths available in the workforce.

Coveris and Cambridge Regional College Collaboration Coveris in Wisbech has teamed up with Cambridge Regional College to produce a series of videos highlighting career options for young people

This collaboration is part of a broader initiative funded by the Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP), which aims to enhance career guidance for youth in the area. The videos highlight various roles at Coveris, including Manufacturing, Logistics, Sales, Sustainability, Packaging Development, Engineering, Operations, and Human Resources (HR).

Michaela Van-Noordt, Coveris’ head of HR, expressed excitement about showcasing packaging careers, emphasizing the industry's diverse opportunities beyond traditional manufacturing roles. Laura Kerry, the college’s vice principal, noted that the videos will provide real-life work stories to inspire students.

Cllr Elisa Meschini, chair of GCP’s executive board, highlighted the value of these videos in revealing the career opportunities available in Greater Cambridge, including insights into sustainability and the role of apprentices in the organization.

The videos will be accessible on the college's website and shared with local schools. They are part of a wider project that includes hosting Apprenticeships, Jobs, and Careers Fairs in Cambridge and Huntingdon, aimed at connecting young people with employment opportunities. These fairs will feature various employers and allow attendees to explore career options actively.
