Unlocking Career Potential: Insights from Alcatel Submarine Networks for Students

Overview
As part of Charlton Athletic Community Trust’s (CACT) ongoing Make it Make Sense (MiMS) programme, Alcatel Submarine Networks (ASN) recently engaged with students at St Mary Magdalene School to unveil the exciting career opportunities within the telecommunications industry.
The Session
The informative session, delivered in collaboration with the University of Greenwich, allowed ASN staff to share valuable insights about working for a leading telecommunications company situated just a mile from the school. ASN, a global leader in installing submarine optical systems, emphasized the significance of local career opportunities.
Empowering Students
Omolayo Oluwadare, a member of the MiMS delivery team, highlighted the programme's purpose: “The whole aim of the MiMS programme is to make life after school make sense for the students. We talk about confidence building, mental health, money management, and preparing for job interviews. Inviting ASN to speak about their work introduces students to a new field and offers unique opportunities.”
