Students Explore Their Futures at HSDC's Careers Fair
Students at Alton College attended its annual careers fair to explore their job and education prospects with representatives from various businesses and universities.
They engaged with regional and national companies spanning fields such as engineering, the armed forces, and facilities management. These representatives provided valuable insights into the workplace and the diverse employment opportunities available.
Universities in Attendance
Participating universities included Portsmouth, Chichester, Solent, and Southampton. Their representatives discussed the benefits of higher education, student life, and various undergraduate study programs.
Showcasing Opportunities
Stands were also set up to highlight Alton College’s higher education courses and apprenticeship programs. As part of HSDC, similar fairs were conducted at Havant College and South Downs College in Purbrook.
Impressive Turnout
HSDC careers manager Kate Creswick noted, “Our annual careers fairs welcomed 70 exhibitors and over 1,000 students from HSDC and local schools across all three campuses.”
Exhibitors praised the students for their enthusiasm and insightful questions. Kate Creswick added, “Opportunities on offer included a mix of degree, apprenticeship, employment, volunteer, and gap year options. We were pleased to have several HSDC alumni manning the stands.”
Students reported having friendly and insightful discussions with representatives, leaving inspired by the various future paths available.
