Dynamic Earth National Careers Week Event
The Dynamic Earth event aimed at encouraging youngsters to pursue careers in science is returning for its second year on March 10-11.
Now in its second year, the two-day event will see more than 20 partner organizations from across the UK's STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) employment landscape engaging directly with learners and teachers. Early registration is encouraged due to limited spaces.
Explore Diverse STEM Careers
During this interactive, hands-on event, students will have the opportunity to:
- Explore diverse STEM careers
- Participate in dynamic activities such as flying drones, experimenting with glacier flow, and modelling the impact of landslides.
Inspiring guest speakers will include award-winning climate activist Less Waste Laura and Julia Crummy, a volcanologist from the British Geological Survey.
Expanding Opportunities
Building on last year's success with over 600 participants, this year’s event aims to accommodate 1,200 learners and teachers. Conor Ellis, science learning and engagement director, emphasizes the importance of understanding how studying science can lead to innovative and fulfilling careers that positively impact people and the planet.
Key Highlights
The event will feature:
- VR glacier modelling
- Experiments with meteorites
- Engaging talks from professionals in the field, including engineers from Cirrus Logic and climate activists.
