PURPOSE

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the broader team to ensure successful delivery across the Off Site Solutions business.

Performing tasks like data management, preparing reports, managing client communications, coordinating meetings, and assisting with contract-related documentation.

The role requires strong organisational skills, analytical and numerical abilities, excellent communication, and proficiency with office software to ensure smooth operations and support commercial objectives.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

In brief the role will be to assist colleagues in the commercial department.

You will be tutored in the commercial management of the projects and commercial best practice alongside learning the administrative processes so you can actively contribute to successful delivery ,specifically, the role will develop to cover the following:

1-Contract Management

• Reviewing and drafting contract-related documentation, ensuring compliance, and supporting the commercial team throughout the contract lifecycle including execution of hard copy agreements (subcontracts, appointments and any similar/associated agreements) printing, posting, receiving, redistributing and archiving.
• Develop processes with commercial management team for all associated processes, procedures, and record keeping.

2-Data Management

• Archiving and recording and all relevant project documents – hard copy and electronic – in line With Algeco company policy.

3-Sub-contract payments

• Assisting with issuing tender packages, producing scope of works, analysing priced submissions and issuing sub contract orders

4-Sub-contract payments

• Assist with s/c payments i.e. compilation and issue of payment notices
• Assist with payment of invoices for, as an example, consultant agreements
• Learn the process of s/c payments within Business Central (so we have back-up for when the Payments Administrator is unavailable).

5-Client and Supplier Communication

• Liaising with customers and suppliers, handling inquiries, resolving complaints and ensuring smooth communication flows.

6-Training

• Relevant training is required for all the above tasks and will be done “on the job”

7-Other support

• This will be required from time to time as the role develops.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Formal QS qualification (BSc or NHD) or equivalent industry experience
• Experience of working in a fast-moving repairs and maintenance/FM environment with multiple concurrent work packages underway.
• Comfortable interpreting drawings, specifications and scope of works and resolving commercial issues
• Highly organised, proactive, and detail-focused, with a collaborative working style
• Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Excel and Microsoft Office
• Experience working cross-functionally with operational, technical, and finance teams
• Full UK Driving Licence required
