Client Manager – Office of the CFO | Manchester (Hybrid)
Ready to move beyond compliance and become a trusted adviser to ambitious businesses?
If you're an ACA or ACCA-qualified finance professional looking for a role where you can build strong client relationships, provide commercially focused advice and develop your career within a growing Office of the CFO team, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
We're working with a highly respected professional services firm that is investing heavily in its Office of the CFO offering. As the team continues to grow, they're looking to appoint a Client Manager to manage a varied portfolio of clients, deliver high-quality financial support and play an important role in the continued growth of the Manchester office.
This is far more than a traditional accounts role. You'll become a trusted adviser to a portfolio of businesses, working closely with Finance Directors, CFOs and business owners to deliver financial insight, improve business performance and support their strategic objectives.
What you'll be doing
- Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors, acting as their trusted finance adviser.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with Finance Directors, CFOs and business owners.
- Preparing and reviewing management accounts, financial reporting and associated management information.
- Supporting clients with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial planning.
- Assisting with statutory accounts and audit liaison, ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
- Providing commercial insight and practical recommendations to support business performance.
- Supporting and mentoring Assistant Managers, Advisors and junior team members.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business to deliver a seamless client service.
- Identifying opportunities to strengthen client relationships and introduce additional advisory services.
- Contributing to the continued growth and success of the Office of the CFO team.
About you
You'll be a qualified accountant who enjoys working closely with clients and wants to develop a career in a commercial, advisory-led environment.
You'll ideally have
- ACA or ACCA qualification.
- A background in practice within Business Services, Accounts or Advisory.
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- A commercial mindset and a genuine interest in helping businesses succeed.
- Experience within outsourced finance, CFO Services or advising SME and mid-market businesses would be advantageous but isn't essential.
Why join?
- Manage a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of industries.
- Build trusted relationships with senior finance professionals and business owners.
- Develop your advisory skills beyond traditional accounting.
- Join a growing and ambitious team with excellent long-term career progression.
- Work in a collaborative, supportive environment where your contribution is recognised.
- Gain exposure to a wide variety of businesses, ensuring every day brings something different.
If you're looking for a role that combines technical accounting, client relationship management and commercial advisory, while offering genuine opportunities for progression, we'd love to hear from you.
