The Role – Finance Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced full-time Finance Supervisor to join our Accounts Team in Cwmbran.

This role will suit someone with experience in working within a legal environment, with a good knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules. A candidate who has experience in supervising and developing a small team is advantageous.

Supervising and working in a small and friendly team, this varied role includes tasks (which are not limited to):

  • Accounts queries
  • Client account reconciliation
  • Processing staff expenses
  • Maintenance and posting of direct debits & standing orders
  • Help managing all client monies in
  • Daily bank statement posting
  • Inputting volume TT’s and BACS payments
  • Transfers between client and office account as per SAR guidelines
  • Bill posting
  • Volume completion pack checking and processing of payments
  • Daily banking including issuing cheques/payments
  • Updating and assisting with purchase ledger
  • Processing and receiving card payments
  • Monitoring and reporting on client balances
  • Handling staff queries regarding ledgers
  • Telephone queries
  • Admin and filing

Supervisory tasks include:

  • Monthly reporting to the Partners/Management team and preparation of financial information, including attendance at board meetings if required
  • Liaison with the Firm’s accountants to ensure compliance and completion of accounts
  • Ensure monthly payroll is processed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Supervising and developing of a team of legal cashiers

The ideal candidate will have;

  • You will have experience of supervising a team, ideally within a legal background
  • You will have experience of using a case management system
  • You will have a drive to succeed and provide excellent client service
  • Knowledge and experience in using computer software (e.g. Excel) to generate reports is a key requirement for this role.
