Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our care home team specialising in senior care and dementia support. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting the management team to deliver high-quality care services, ensuring the well-being of residents with diverse needs, including Alzheimer's and other cognitive impairments. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with nursing or care home experience to develop their leadership skills within a supportive environment. The Deputy Manager will be responsible for supervising staff, overseeing care plans, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, all while fostering a compassionate and professional atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Management team in the day-to-day operational running of the care home, ensuring smooth service delivery.
  • Supervise and support care staff, promoting best practices in elderly and dementia care.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and review of personalised care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
  • Administer medication in accordance with prescribed protocols, maintaining accurate records.
  • Lead staff training programmes centred on dementia care, Alzheimer's support, medication administration, and person-centred approaches.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and quality standards.
  • Support residents with daily activities, promoting independence and dignity in a caring environment.
  • Liaise effectively with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive care services.
  • Assist in managing staffing rotas, recruitment processes, and performance appraisals as required.

Experience

  • Proven experience within assisted living or nursing home environments, preferably with senior or dementia care specialisation.
  • Demonstrable supervisory or management experience within a care setting.
  • Knowledge of care planning processes and regulatory compliance standards related to elderly and dementia care.
  • Experience with medication administration and managing complex care needs such as Alzheimer's disease.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with home care services is desirable but not essential. This role is ideal for committed professionals seeking to advance their career in senior healthcare management while making a meaningful difference in residents' lives through compassionate leadership and expert care delivery.
