About the Role

As a P&C Underwriter, you’ll be instrumental in assessing and managing risk across a broad range of commercial property and casualty lines. Working with brokers and clients of varying sizes, you’ll analyse complex submissions, underwrite new and renewal business, and drive profitability while upholding our high standards of service and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite property and casualty risks across multiple sectors
• Analyse broker submissions and apply underwriting guidelines effectively
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders
• Negotiate terms and pricing to strike a balance between competitiveness and profitability
• Support portfolio growth while maintaining sound risk selection
• Contribute to product development and market intelligence in collaboration with wider teams
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and governance requirements

What We're Looking For

• Proven underwriting experience in P&C insurance—ideally 3+ years
• Strong technical knowledge across commercial lines (property, liability, casualty)
• Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
• Confident communicator with a proactive mindset
• Cert CII or ACII qualification is preferred (or working towards)
• Familiarity with underwriting tools and software systems
