Staff Nurse

The Integrated Procedures Unit (IPU) has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, organised and competent Staff Nurse to join our core nursing team.

This role is for 37.5 hours per week, worked over 4 days for a fixed term initially of 12 months. IPU is open 07:30-19:30 Monday to Friday, so this is a great opportunity to achieve an excellent work-life balance whilst joining a dynamic nurse-led service.

The Post holder will be responsible for the assessment, planning and evaluating care for patients on the Unit and on the DOSA. The post holder will admit patients for all treatments within the unit in the admissions area. The post holder will provide second stage recovery for GA and LA, endoscopy and interventional radiology and procedures team and day case patients. The post holder will rotate into the endoscopy room and nurse lead dressings clinic and DOSA. They will provide a high standard of clinical nursing within the IPU and manage a group of patients. They will act as a role model to students and Clinical Support Workers and present a positive, professional image of the organisation and of the nursing team.

The Integrated Procedures Unit (IPU) is a nurse-led, fast-paced and dynamic service. The unit consists of a procedures unit, interventional radiology unit, ultrasound room, surgical dressings clinic, outpatients clinic, day of surgery admissions unit, an operating theatre and second stage recovery bays.
