Exploring Future Healthcare Careers: Newton Abbot Students Dive into Hands-On Experience

Aspiring healthcare professionals from Newton Abbot took a significant step towards their future careers during a discovery day at Plymouth Marjon University. T Level Health students from South Devon UTC participated in a series of interactive workshops, gaining invaluable insights into various healthcare fields including adult and child nursing, physiotherapy, and speech and language therapy.

Hands-On Learning Beyond the Classroom

The students didn't just listen; they engaged in practical workshops, toured the campus, and attended talks on apprenticeships. This immersive experience provided them with a clearer understanding of the skills and qualifications needed to succeed in their desired healthcare professions.

A Glimpse into the Future

Many participants expressed ambitions to pursue careers in nursing, paediatrics, and counselling. The discovery day offered them a unique opportunity to meet potential employers and explore the realities of working in healthcare, bridging the gap between academic learning and professional practice.
