Our client is seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead a dedicated business unit specialising in the delivery of 132kV power projects. This is a senior leadership role within a larger group, offering the opportunity to shape strategy and drive operational excellence across high-value infrastructure works.

About the Role

• Lead, develop, and inspire a multidisciplinary team to deliver complex power projects safely, on time, and within budget.
• Oversee all aspects of business unit performance, including commercial, operational, and financial outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners to ensure successful project delivery and repeat business.
• Champion a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all activities.
• Report directly to the Group Board, contributing to wider business strategy and growth initiatives.

About You

• Proven track record in managing large-scale power construction projects at 132kV or above, with a deep understanding of the UK energy infrastructure sector.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience in P&L responsibility, business development, and contract negotiation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and deliver results in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of UK construction regulations, health & safety, and industry standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and motivate teams at all levels.
• Degree-qualified in engineering, construction, or a related discipline is desirable.
