*   Ability to understand and develop the relevant market of providers to ensure procurement programmes reach a successful conclusion
*   Knowledge and familiarity of current working practices of key partners to support commissioning activity. (education, early years, youth work, family support, complex needs, youth offending, social work, public health, children transport, residential and housing support services)
*   Understanding/experience of a range of improvement methodologies to drive service improvement
*   Experience of delivering creative and innovative solutions in children services
*   Experience of leading service improvement activity to deliver improved outcomes for children and young people
